In a career limited by his size, Simon Marshall rose to the top of the game achieving a metropolitan win rate of 28.6% - the highest of any jockey in recent history. He won 15 Group 1 races and rode champions such as Super Impose, Better Loosen up, Naturalism, Durbridge, Hurricane Sky and Hareeba. Unfortunately, Simon’s battle with weight became unwinnable despite the help of former World Boxing Champion Jeff Fenech who deemed Simon “a great jockey and a great Australian”.
